Meet Sophie.
Sophie is a red merle Australian Shepherd who came to the farm after failing her herding test as a puppy.
Apparently, Sophie wasn't going to make much of a traditional herding dog.
She just needed a slightly more unusual herd.
Today, Sophie lives at Rainbow Connection Farm, where she has taken on the role of mama to just about everybody. Pigs, horses, chickens, ducks, cats, dogs—Sophie keeps an eye on the whole farm and does her best to keep everyone in line as one big family.
It turns out Sophie didn't fail at herding. She just hadn't found her herd yet.
