Meet Annie.

Annie is a tricolor Australian Shepherd with one blue eye, one brown eye, and a remarkable story.

When Annie was only eight months old, she was rescued from a breeding and hoarding situation. She was living in a small backyard with around 40 younger puppies—and even though she was still a puppy herself, Annie was helping care for them.

She was so frightened of people that rescuers had to use a net to safely catch her when the dogs were removed.

Today, Annie's life looks very different.

She lives at Rainbow Connection Farm, where she still carries anxiety from her early experiences, but she has also discovered something she is exceptionally good at: herding absolutely everybody.

Ducks, cats, horses—Annie doesn't particularly care whether an animal is technically supposed to be herded. If someone gets loose or wanders where they shouldn't, Annie is often there to help. She has even helped bring our horses back to the correct pasture.

The little puppy who once needed someone to bring her to safety now spends her days helping us bring everyone else home.
