Meet Annie.
Annie is a tricolor Australian Shepherd with one blue eye, one brown eye, and quite a story.
When Annie was only about eight months old, she was rescued from a breeding and hoarding situation. She was living in a small backyard with around 40 younger puppies. Even though Annie was still a puppy herself, she was helping care for them.
When the dogs were rescued, Annie was so frightened that she had to be safely caught with a net.
Today, Annie lives at Rainbow Connection Farm. She still carries anxiety from her early experiences, but she has also discovered something she absolutely loves: herding everyone.
Ducks, cats, horses—it doesn't matter much to Annie. If someone is where they aren't supposed to be, she's ready to help. When one of our animals gets loose, Annie often helps guide them back to their pasture or wherever they belong.
The little puppy who once needed someone to bring her to safety now spends her days helping us bring everyone else home.
